About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Southport General Hospital clinical decisions unit recently.

The treatment that first day was absolutely superb. Top professional staff, excellent attention, tests done with maximum efficiency and speed, caring environment.

I was informed at every stage exactly what was being undertaken, the persons and timing involved and the expected outcome. Excellent.

I was then moved to ward 9A where things went downhill...

The original version of this posting listed a range of problems with the care experienced by the patient.

We asked the hospital to comment on the patient's feedback. It turned out that the patient had previously complained directly to the hospital, which had dealt with the complaint, apparently to the satisfaction of the patient.

Our policy is not to publish postings which are already the subject of a formal complaint.
