"Efficient clinic but a long time to wait for results"

I had an appointment two weeks ago to have a small lump removed and to have it tested. This was at a small unit on Station Approach, it’s a very efficient and friendly clinic, and all the staff are lovely. However, the letter I’ve just received says the results will not be available for 6-8 weeks, this seems like such a long time. My husband and I are in our 70s and will remember to follow it up if we have not heard after 8 weeks but there must be people who will forget all about it and not follow up when the may need to.
