severely phobic of dentists for over 25 years. went today to see emergency dentist. Had major panic attacks on way there but once in building I felt at ease. Staff on reception were lovely, environment was so relaxing. When my name was called I wasn't scared at all as I was put at ease immediately. The dentist and assistant I saw were so lovely. Spoke to me before even looking in my mouth and didn't "make me feel stupid" regarding my phobia. If I had had such dentists in past I wouldn't be phobic! i may have lost a front tooth today... which is a massive thing for me.... but I conquered a fear and it's all thanks to the lovely staff. they have given me the courage to persue my dental treatment. If someone as extremely phobic of a dentist can say this then i hope it encourages others to seek help
