How is it that the psychiatrist in this place is void of all human sensitivity: no smiles, no genuine enquiry about how the patient and family are coping, no eye contact as they busied themself in writing down every word the patient or carer utter as response to questions. With a manic, rambling bipolar patient with very rare remissions over 20 years since age 16, this consultant felt it appropriate to ask if the patient has considered paid work! Care co-ordinators come and go - some with pitiful experience in serious mental illness. Yet, they are considered the lynch pin of the care (read: lack of care). Waiting time after GP request 10 weeks - this in a rapid cycling manic to mixed episode with psychosis. No cancer patient, cardiac patient or stroke patient could be neglected or managed in this way. Please CQC take action on this expensive Centre and the suffering of those with a broken brain and mind!
