I've been having a bad time breathing wise over the past year or so, recently diagnosed with bronchiectasis and I also have asthma and Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria//Anaphylaxis. I've been having lots of chest infections and antibiotics, a week or so respite and then another one hits me.
This past week has been awful, not long finished a course of antibiotics for chest infection and then came down with what started as a horrible head cold and ended up this morning wheezing so badly that I wasn't sure if I was having an asthma attack, a chest infection reaction or anaphylaxis. Life is so bloody complicated!
So I went to the local Walk in Centre in Huyton. I've been there before for several conditions when I've been unable to see my GP and felt I needed urgent attention. They've been brilliant in the past and were brilliant today also, I was given advice about my asthma and meds that I wasn't aware of, and advised when to take action and go to A & E if needed, so I feel better able now to know what to do if there's a next time.
The nurses are so thorough it's unbelievable and I'm so glad we have a local Walk In Centre for such occasions. Sincere thanks to Gaynor and Maria and to the Receptionist whose name I didn't get who gave me excellent treatment and support today. : -)
