" IATROGENIC NEGLECT/PATIENT SAFETY"

(as the patient),

Immersive Reader
Dear patient opinion, This is obviously not a site for people with serious concerns about their treatment-no mention of clinical error/adverse events/patient safety. Personally I fractured my sacrum and coyccx and had two inappropriate lumbar operations which have left me in permanent pain and disability and also denied routine health care. I would resent use of term "moan", as if people made trivial complaints about treatment. If you want to be taken seriously ,please adapt site to include patient safety events. Mr. Eamon Duffy

Thanks for your comments. We certainly do welcome postings about patient safety - and we encourage hospitals to deal with them and then post up what they've done. We're not always successful but in our view this is a key aim of Patient Opinion.

As for 'moans' you're right this is a tricky one. Several people have told us this is the wrong word. But it's quite hard to think of one that would be better. 'Complaint' has its own meaning in the NHS. And 'suggestion' isn't quite right either. What do you think would be better? - we'd be really interested to hear.
