"Our visit to Queen Victoria Hospital"

About: Chichester Treatment Centre / General surgery

(as a relative),

May we first say that the doctors and staff were first class and the treatment we received was excellent, But having said that, our opinion of the organisation is it's just appalling.

We started with our problem at St Richards Chichester where an appointment was made at Queen Victoria for around 11 am. After waiting in a very cold very out of date waiting room we were called for assessment nearly 2 hours later.
After this we were told told that we could have some lunch as the anaesthetic would be local. We were then directed to a restaurant which was closed. We were also told that there were two patients before us.

About an hour later we returned to the reception and were told that we were next. Eventually after complaining we were seen at about five o'clock and left the hospital about half past six. A total time of over seven hours We understand that there were no such thing as appointments and there were two clinics running at the same time with only one theatre for treatment. After the very efficient way we were dealt with at Chichester we consider the Q A needs some help.

We were also told by the doctor that they started work at 07-30 and worked through their lunch brake to try and catch up. A recipe for mistakes.
