"Treated well but facilites disappointing"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

She was admitted to Phoenix ward with pneumonia and died three days later. While she was treated with care and compassion, I found that the facilities for families were disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to offer us your feedback.

I was pleased to read that the staff offered care and compassion at a critical time when it was needed.

In your opinion what facilities for families do you feel were required that may help in the future?

Thank you

I know there is a family room available in the Hospital but we wanted to stay close by to our Mum and it was too far away. I know they are expensive but reclining armchairs would be ideal or even footstools to use with the chairs already provided, or maybe camp beds so that families can at least try and get an hour's sleep when possible. I have to say that Staff were very helpful giving us blankets and pillows in an attempt to make us comfortable.
