"My Dad's care"

About: Victoria Hospice

(as a relative),

My Dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma. Cure was not an option. He took up the offer of an indwelling pleural catheter as a means of relieving his symptoms and extending his life. This required the services of Inverkeithing District nurses. They called at the house 3 times per week to drain the catheter and do general checks on Dad's health. Janet, David & Lucy were quite simply wonderful. They were kind, generous in spirit, patient & were a godsend to my Dad. A special thank you must go to Janet. Especially in those dark days before the hospice. She helped us as well as Dad. Lovely, lovely lady.

Dear King16

Thank you for your post on Patient Opinion and my sincere apology for not responding sooner. I was delighted to hear of the way the staff from Inverkeithing Health Centre interacted with your dad; clearly this made a big difference and helped not only your dad but the family too, which is so important.

It is great that you have been able to identify the staff as it means we can make sure their efforts are recognised and I can share your post with them and with the wider team.

Many thanks for taking the time to post

Regards

Louise Ewing
