What I liked
I am writing to thank the hospital for the superb care I received at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
On 30th December, I was taken as an emergency to A&E at Hereford Hospital where they carried out a CT scan which identified that I had had a sub-arachnoid brain haemorrhage. The results of the scan were electronically transferred to Birmingham where they were immediately reviewed by your neurological team who arranged for me to be swiftly transferred to the QEH. Detailed angiograms identified an AV fistula which was later embolised under general anaesthetic. I am now back at home and am making a full recovery.
I was so impressed by the professionalism, hard work and caring of all the staff at the hospital. I was always kept informed, staff handovers were excellent, nurses went down to X-ray with me to get direct feedback and results of any tests came back straight away. I felt I was in the safest and best hands throughout.
