In June 2015 I had a gastroscopy at Loughborough hospital.
I was very anxious about this and although most staff were pleasant the doctor carrying out the procedure was un-reassuring and a little on the flippant side.
I was very distressed during the procedure and the sedative plainly had not worked.
This was not referred to or seemed to be considered at all important afterwards.
On the positive side, the doctor discussed the findings with me immediately and all was fine.
My supportive husband had been with me during the procedure but was sent back to the waiting room when I was taken to the recovery ward.
This was allegedly because it was a single sex environment.
I was therefore particularly surprised and not at all pleased when a group of male and female people walked through the ward, all staring at me in my bed as they passed.
They looked as it they were going to a meeting - quite bizarre.
Why could my husband not have stayed with me?
