"Concerned about mental health support for my sister"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as other),

My sister had an appointment with a doctor at the Health Centre.

My sister suffers from anxiety and depression and the doctor she saw kept firing questions at her. I could not believe what I was witnessing. Three times I asked the doctor to stop pointing the finger at her and to do something to help.

The doctor produced a letter that a Community Psychiatric Nurse had sent to my sister's previous doctor. This nurse said to my sister if she wanted to kill herself she could not stop her, she said that on 2 separate occasion.

Dear A worried sister,
