Second attempt on getting this operation. No beds first time. A little traumatic to sit for hours then be sent home. We were treated politely and with sympathy which helped to soften an upsetting experience. Actually had the operation a week later. Received great care in ladies day surgery. Answered my questions and helped me to feel better quite quickly. I would say that theatre needs to make sure the paperwork arrives with the patient correctly written. To help day surgery. They thought I finished in theatre by 11.00 but I actually didn't go in until 11.15 . Fortunately the staff know what you should look like when you are ready to go home. The admissions unit staff were helpful and reassuring which was appreciated. It is scary going into hospital for an operation!
