Having attended A&E department on 2nd January 2016, due to difficulty with breathing. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the staff (reception, triage nurse, doctor, and radiographer) who managed my care.
I am asthmatic and had been unwell since new years eve, neglecting the signs and symptoms, mainly due to my reluctance to seek care over the holiday period. I was also hoping to avoid A&E at this time of year until my GP surgery reopened. Unfortunately my condition deteriorated and, after going to the walk in centre at Rake lane, I was transferred to A&E at Cramlington hospital.
As expected the department was extremely busy with quite a significant waiting time. However, despite the unrealistic demands from some of the patients and the downright abusive behaviour of one patient in particular, the staff were extremely diligent and professional. It is the first time I have needed the services of this hospital but I was immensely impressed with the care and advice I received and the layout of the department - no long treks down draughty corridors for a chest x-ray). Well done and thank you.
"Due thanks and appreciation"
