The new blood test policy means I am now unable to have my blood test done before my next consultant appointment.
I am taking strong drugs and have to have my bloods taken every 6 months to check for liver damage etc.
I was not informed about the new policy (no doubt someone will tell me my fault for not anticipating the change and checking) and arranged going into work late so I could have my blood test.
When I got there I was told I wouldn't be seen for 2 and a half hours. There was no way I could wait that long as I had to get to work.
Therefore I am now unable to have a blood test before seeing my consultant, making the consultant appointment a waste everyone's time.
This is just not good enough, most of us have to work.
Just because we are ill doesn't mean we don't have to work full time.
I have never had to wait 2 and a half hours for a blood test before.
I have no choice but to go private again, as many working people do, to be able to fit appointments around my work schedule.
It's either that or risk serious bodily damage or even death.
The NHS only works for those who are unemployed or retired.
