There needs to be serious in service on communication in Crosshouse Hospital. My aunt has been in there for 8 weeks with a broken hip. She has been in 5 different wards - not that we were ever told she had been moved. Twice we were told it was 'end of life' and the next day she was 'fit for discharge'.
Arrangements were made to move her to a care home in Prestwick this afternoon - when infact they moved her at 9. 45pm tonight during storm Henry. This lady weighs less than 4 stones, is very frail and I only find out when I call the hospital to find out what was happening, despite numerous promises of they would let us know when she was in the ambulance so we could be at the home to meet her.
What can I say - let down yet again!
Score -0 for communication at this hospital.
I hope and pray I never have to go in there.
