I had an appointment today 27 January 2016 at the Glenfield breast clinic, to have lumps in both of my breasts checked. Naturally I was quite nervous and worried but from the moment I entered the clinic I was met with reassuring smiles and swiftly taken through the process. I was initially examined and assessed by a nurse who introduced themself, explained what would happen and I immediately felt more at ease from their professional friendly reassuring manner. I was then waiting just a few minutes before going into a room for a mammogram. This was fine, very quick and only slightly uncomfortable and again the member of staff was professional explained what was being done and in a friendly reassuring manner. Just another short wait and I was taken into another room introduced to 2 more staff who did an ultrasound scan of both of my breasts (slightly more uncomfortable than the mammogram) again they were professional friendly and reassuring. They explained my test results, answered my questions and then said I would see the nurse again next to decide my treatment and get further advice and answer my questions. This was just another short wait and I was all done. I had been told to allow 3 hours for the appointment but I was out in less than 2. I feel very lucky and relieved my condition was not more serious and I really wanted to acknowledge how impressed I was by the wonderful, efficient and professional service the team gave at the clinic. I wish all NHS services worked as well as this. Thank you
