I recently had to go for an umbilical hernia operation on ward 45 (day ward) at rvi Newcastle upon tyne. I am 47 and i'd never been for an operation before so i was apprehensive .You hear all these bad write ups about nhs but from my experience, from consultation until operation i have not one complain or moan everything was fine ,treatment before ,during and after operation was great
