I had a carotid artery operation 9 months ago as my artery was 70 per-cent blocked on both sides leading to the brain, Since then I have asked to put my name on the list to get the other artery operated on to disperse the blockage. I was told it was not their policy to operate again until something happens again like a some kind of numbness or loss of power or going blind in one eye which was the cause of my first mini stroke.
I can't help but think, do they care about the patients or are you just another number? I think their policy needs to change. That is no way to treat a patient and I think its a disgrace if that is truly their policy as it would benefit the patient and the NHS if they had their operation. Don't get me wrong, they do a great job in the NHS, but it's really sad if they are taking a chance when it could mean a fatal outcome for someone, which I consider is not on the cards as far as I am concerned.
