I was rushed to the Accident and Emergency department when I was informed that I had dislocated my left shoulder. I had unknowingly done this 3 days earlier when I had fallen over outside college.
I was in extreme pain and could not move my arm or shoulder at all, so was taken to a local walk in centre at the time where a nurse could not find anything wrong with my arm, and sent me home undiagnosed.
3 days later I could not bear the pain any longer, and went back to the walk in centre, where I had an X-Ray and was informed that I had dislocated my shoulder. I was then rushed to the Arrowe Park Accident and Emergency department, where I was seen by a triage nurse and then taken into Resus quickly in order to have my shoulder put back into place.
I was very scared and nervous at first, but the staff reassured me, treated with respect and empathy, gave me lots of pain relief and made me feel comfortable during the procedure.
Amazing service from the A&E department.
Thank you! !
"Excellent service in A&E"
