"Broken Leg - left outside for 1 hour 20 mins"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

Incident: Football injury. Leg broken in 2 places. Called for ambulance. Patient sat in the middle of football pitch in temperature of approx 6 degrees. Could not be moved due to the pain. Paramedic arrived after approx 45 mins but did not have equipment to move the body. Applied some pain killing gas. Ambualnce arrived 30 mins later. By now patient was suffering from hyperthermia as well as pain from double leg break. Patient eventually put on stretcher at approx 9. 40pm – one hour and 20 mins after emergency call. Not only did patient have to suffer cold and pain for 1 hour 20 mins, over 40 footballers had to have their evenings activity cancelled because there was an injured body on the pitch.

It is difficult for me to comment as to what happened on this occasion as some key, specific information is not included in the above and so I am unable to locate the incident.
