On Sat the 2nd of January I found myself admitted to Stepping Hill hospital with a temperature and abdominal pains, firstly I was assessed on Ward C3, the nurses that took my bloods and dealt with me were very professional and warm with an easy nature.
I was looked at by a Dr who seemed so on top of everything and confident in their assessment that it quickly put me at ease.
I was then moved to C6, where I spent Saturday night and then Short stay surgical for the Sunday night.
Even though I was moved which was explained because of the new year influx, I at no time was left or felt like my care suffered, in fact I cannot praise enough literally every member of staff I came into contact with, even observing them deal with rude or awkward patients in a respectful and polite manner.
Luckily my woes were controlled quickly and I was able to leave on the Monday afternoon, feeling a lot better than when I arrived.
Finally I would like to mention the food, all the jokes about hospital food banished, it was hot tasty plenty to chose from and well.... Great.
In a time when everybody is so easy to criticise, just about everything and everyone and moan and winge I felt it was the least I could do to take the time to praise a lot of under appreciated people for a difficult job fantastically done.
I apologise for the grammar as it was wrote on my phone.
Thank you, kindest regards and Happy New Year.
Carl
