I started off under consultant care due to medical history. I transfered consultant during pregnancy due to being diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Both consultants were thorough and detailed. The diabetes nurses were excellent and only a phone call away, so I could get advice and changes without having to visit the hospital. I was induced and had to have intervention during birth, all was explained clearly and they worked hard to keep us both safe. My lg is being reffered to another hospital for minor surgery, but the pediatrician's at Bedford, checked her thoroughly to make sure it wasn't serious. I have also been diagnosed with DVT in A&E. I was taken seriously, given medication, and put into the care of the day unit. All the staff have been lovely and sympathetic without being condescending. I have felt safe and supported at all stages, despite so many medical complications, which is all down to the quality of the staff.
"Maternity care was brilliant"
