My mam was taken into hospital on Christmas Day suffering from stomach pain, she was then admitted to ward e56, I was informed she had a chest infection and she was being treated for that, it took 3 days for some of the staff to be aware of that condition, I was then informed my mother while eating food had let food go to her lungs which had caused her to be none responsive, and that a dr would be available after the xmas break, we eventually sat with the dr on Tuesday and agreed a plan of action, the communication between doctors and nurses seemed to be nonexistent as nurses where doing the opposite of what was agreed and did not understand the need of a drip as she became nil by mouth. My dear mother passed away on Wednesday, we still don't know the cause of death or what the actual problem was. I am totally disgusted with the communication between members of staff. This was not a staff shortage problem this was people not knowing what the hell was going on. Thank you for the nurses who did try and help
