"Cognitive Stimulation Group – ‘It makes me Happy’!"

About: Intellectual Developmental Disabilities /Learning Disability Services - Community / Intellectual Developmental Disabilities /Learning Disability Services – City

(as other),

Summerwood Day Centre, Clifton for service users with learning disabilities. (IDD). Autumn 2015

The group is similar to the Memory Clinic concept used for people with dementia to promote interaction, aid reality orientation and memory recall. Ten sessions of cognitive stimulation therapy was offered by Occupational Therapists. The Involvement Team supported staff to capture feedback at the end of the sessions.

The group produced some picture feedback to show us what they thought about the group. Some chose to draw group members whilst one member wrote down what she enjoyed most including throwing a ball.

Working in partnership with Care Opinion to gather feedback, meaning we find out what we do well and how you think we should improve. We really do want to hear from you and we reply to every story.
