I had my gall bladder removed yesterday. The operation should only have taken one hour but, due to inflammation, took three hours and I did struggle in recovery from the after effects of the anaesthetic and low blood pressure. A nurse supported me throughout and the anaesthetist also came to talk to me and give me feedback .Eventually I was taken back to the ward , where a lovely nurse made sure I received the care
I needed. While I was there the anaesthetist and a doctor came to check on me and said I could go home if I wished. Since I couldn't leave until 9 o'clock, I was feeling rather weak and it was an absolutely foul night I was told I could spend the night there - it was up to me, at all times I was involved in the decision to stay.
I couldn't have received better care and am very grateful to all involved in my care
