My insurance provider made a terrible mistake referring to a specialist that practices in BMI Somerfield Hospital (Maidstone).
I got the impression that the booking is centrally managed through a call centre (no issue there); the real issue comes with the booking process which is very frustrating and very unprofessional.
The Receptionist who answered my call undermined my knowledge to distinguish the treatment and consultation I was trying to get.
They questioned the fact I was booking with the Neurologist and pointed out and I quote: “Neurosurgeon treats brain and does not treat your symptoms”.
Please, can you all educate your Receptionists regarding various aspects of medical expertise?
For your information, I am a Scientist myself and have completed 2 years of Neuroscience in university. I know a great deal when it comes to neurological disorders and feel insulted that this receptionist tried to lecture me with their ‘knowledge’ on my medical symptoms. I invite you to review the phone call (if calls were truly recorded?) made on the 11th December 2015 at 13:21. This is the number I dialled: 0800 051 5040.
Thank you.
