I was sent to the TIA clinic and tests were immediately put into force over the course of 3 days by the consultant's Registrar. A wonderful nurse took such care to explain everything to me and the Registrar was so thorough.
They got in touch with the surgeon, who met me on Pasteur ward on Friday 20th November to explain that I needed an operation on my carotid artery so that I did not have a full stroke. They arranged for me to go in on Tuesday 24th November. I am now home after a successful operation and I cannot thank all the staff that cared for me enough. From the very start they were so kind and efficient and a special thank you to the Registrar who persevered even though I was reluctant to admit that I had anything wrong. The staff on Pasteur ward work so hard to make the stay there as pleasant as it can be on a stroke ward. The ward was exceptionally clean and the meals good. I will be eternally grateful to everyone for the excellent care I have received at Basildon Hospital.
