My GP sent me to A&E via ambulance on 6 November 2015. I had severe headaches and vomiting, and then confusion set in leaving me with very little recollection of the events that followed over the next 24 hours. So I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those lovely people who treated me with such care and dedication.
Firstly I would like to say a big big thank you to the para-medics who were fantastic.
Next I want to thank the team in A&E who quickly responded to my arrival and particularly the doctor who recognised I had encephalitis. I don't know their name but I believe their quick diagnosis probably saved me from debilitating complications or worse and I feel very lucky indeed to be making a full recovery.
I would also like to thank all the other doctors and teams who looked after me for the duration of my 2 weeks in hospital. A special thanks also goes to all the staff on wards F7 and G9, you were fabulous too.
Being in hospital has been difficult but I am so happy to be home and on the mend. I have total admiration for the amazing staff at WSH.
"Thank you WSH"
