After having to wait several months for my first thyroid appointment in the summer I then spent 5 minutes with the consultant who told me they could not help as they had no idea why I was there as my GP surgery had failed to send my notes over! I then went for a blood test, only to receive an urgent call later that day to tell me my blood results.
I was told by the consultant that I must return for a follow up appointment within 6 weeks but the unhelpful bookings staff could not be bothered to help and sent me on my way.
My next appointment (received via letter in the post as apparently the bookings staff don't actually book appointments on the day) then turned into a 3 and a half month wait and then my third appointment disappeared completely and I became lost in the useless bookings process that SMH runs.
This hospital is a shambles - in order to get seen and to get a diagnosis I have had to use my hard earned savings and pay for a private consultation elsewhere. If you have a choice of hospitals to use, go elsewhere.
