Throughout my pregnancy I wanted to give birth at the white horse birthing centre and when I got to eleven days overdue I was starting to think that I wouldn't be able to. On the tenth day I went in to the day unit to be assessed because baby was doing fewer movements than normal. The staff were amazing and fully respected the fact that I didn't want to be induced until I absolutely had to. I went back the next day for further monitoring and saw the same staff who me feel completely at ease and when I explained I'd had tightening all morning they gave me a second sweep then and there and really boosted my confidence saying that they thought and hoped I'd give birth before being induced. Later that day my contractions began and I thought my waters broke, back up to the hospital and into the whitehorse centre where I was told I was three centre meters but no broken water. They were absolutely amazing they checked my birth plan straight away and gave us a room with pool, explained the call buttons and when to push them, brought me tea and toast and left us to get comfortable. Every midwife we saw was incredibly friendly and made us feel calm and looked after. The midwife who delivered our baby let me shout and move around, they encouraged me and made me feel like I was doing really well. They took into consideration everything we wanted and we couldn't have had a better experience! After the birth we were left to have family time and were allowed to stay in the room for the duration of our stay. When the shifts changed everyone knew exactly what was going on and we were introduced to the day staff. When it came to being discharged it was quick and the doctor who checked baby over was friendly. I could not fault the service that we recieved both myself and my partner had the perfect birth experiance...Thankyou!
"Fantastic birth experiance"
