I would like to ask you to write to the hospital's complaints department so that we can discuss in more detail the areas you felt let down by and hopefully resolve these and offer you some reassurance. I would also like to take this opportunity to assure you that Bishop Auckland has a vital role in the health services that the Trust's provides for our local communities, it is a centre for planned care for the whole of County Durham and Darlington and includes a specialist rehabilitation centre, a lot of planned surgery is carried out there including day surgery, hip and knee replacements and other operations, there is a new eye unit – delivering a full range of ophthalmology outpatient services including cataract surgery, a midwifery led unit and a full range of outpatient and diagnostics for local patients.
