''When my son was at Heather Close it was amazing. The atmosphere was so relaxed and it felt like being in your own home. My son has now been transferred to a locked secure unit at Bracken House and it feels like my son is locked in prison! He is not doing very well, he has gone backwards in his recovery and gone into himself.
I want to see the Trust stop closing these places down when they helped my son so much. they keep saying they are putting more help in the community but they haven't offered anything near where I live in Worksop for my son. It is difficult to get my son transferred near home to a suitable place where we can be together and not travel so far. I feel completely helpless, my son is very very vulnerable and he is not safe to be in the community. Why is the Trust doing this? . I don't know how I have got through the last eleven years. A weight has been lifted off me recently via Andrea, at Bassettlaw Carers Group who has been there to talk to me and told me to contact different people to help me.
Care in the community is only good if people are well enough to be there. What happens to him when he isn't well enough?
