The staff on B1 and A3 did what had to be done when it had to be done during my treatment for an irregular heartbeat but I would have felt better if I had been treated as person and not just a non-entity. I didn't feel my views were taken into account or my feelings as the wards, especially B1 was very noisy at night.
I did feel very isolated, I may be over 60 (just) but I am not senile, I was left for long periods not having anyone to speak to me. I didn't know when the doctor would be coming to do his rounds. The monitor I was attached to kept beeping all the time and no one came to check the matter, I switched it off in the end and no one noticed. Was it necessary to keep asking me if I was fully independent as I manage to take care of myself? I run my own business!
I appreciate the staff are very busy and do their best in difficult circumstances but I left hospital very depressed.
