After attending Wishaw General Maternity Triage twice and a letter from my GP, I was finally admitted due to very bad pain in my right side. (I will be making a complaint on this matter, but this is a separate issue).
I was eventually sent to get a renal ultrasound to find out the cause of my pain and would like to compliment Dr Harper, the radiologist that performed my ultrasound as he was fantastic in explaining to me that hydronephrosis in my right kidney was causing me this pain. Due to having a history of hydronephrosis as a child, he made it clear to me that he could not rule out if this was due to me being pregnant or if it were caused by the same issues I had as a child, and that a CT scan would be necessary once I give birth to fully determine the cause. The nurse that was assisting him at the time was also fantastic and made sure I was comfortable as I was in a bit of pain, although I didn't manage to catch her name.
Although I was sent home from maternity not long after my scan, with no explanation on if and how this will effect my pregnancy or a plan of action and that my community midwife will "deal with it", I am confident from reading the scan report that my community midwife will make sure I get "delt with" the appropriate staff, as the staff in maternity obviously did not from reading what was written in my notes.
"Fantastic staff!"
