I would like to extend a huge thank you to the maternity ward at St Helier for taking such superb care of my daughter, Chelsea, who was in hospital for 9 days, in August 2015, and was very sick with ketoacidosis brought on by some mysterious illness. I was very impressed by the excellent care, attention and medical skill administered by the midwives and all the consultants and doctors who dealt with her case. They got Chelsea well and she was able to deliver a healthy, beautiful baby with no complications! This is the second child, and second complicated delivery, she's had at St Helier's, and both times the hospital provided exceptional care! A special thank you to midwives.
The only negative experience was with a member of staff HDU who was rude, unsympathetic, didn't seem to know what they were doing, and didn't want to be bothered with things like bringing Chelsea a commode. This member of staff literally said to my daughter, "What is your problem?" (with sarcasm not concern) when Chelsea was moaing in pain and said, "You'll just have to deal with it" before storming out of the room.
Otherwise, everyone brilliant and excellent care. Thank you.
A relieved mama
