"The eye clinic at Norfolk and Norwich is wonderful"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

Two years ago I had a heavy fall, and ruptured my retina in 12 places. It was necessary to remove the jelly from the eye in order to repair the retina; within two months the jelly had regenerated, restoring my sight. As a result of the operation I developed a cataract which was dealt with in a matter of weeks and I am now restored to full sight.

In both cases I had wonderful care and attention, the staff in the Nelson Day Unit and the eye clinic were unfailingly friendly and kind, and the whole department seemed to be riding on a wave of goodwill.

My elderly mother has also recently had a cataract operation and I am pleased to report that the same atmosphere prevails.

I did write to the hospital at the time to express my appreciation but am delighted to find the opportunity to recommend the department publicly.
