I have suffered a number of miscarriages during the last eight years and have visited Warrington on a number of occasions. On each of these visits I have been quite shocked at the lack of sensitivity shown by the members of staff who dealt with me. During my last visit in February of last year I was told that each time I went to the toilet I had to use a bed pan so that any 'product' could be collected. during the course of the afternoon I visited the toilet on three occasions as did another patient and at no time were the bed pans collected. when I mentioned it to a member of staff I was given to understand that I was making a fuss about something that could not be dealt with by very busy staff.
On being discharged I had to complete a form which required the 'mother's signature'. Having just experienced my fifth miscarriage and having never gone full term I found this quite upsetting at the time. I did speak to a registrar about these two matters and she was very sympathetic and assured me that she would mention my first problem at the next departmental meeting. However, she was unable to reassure me regarding the second mater since it had been discussed at a previous meeting and she felt that there was very little chance of the pro forma being changed to cater for patients such as myself.
