"Radical Prostatectomy"

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I am writing to thank the Trust and in particular the surgical team for the excellent treatment and care I have received before, during and after for a “Robotic Assisted Radicle Prostatectomy”. My operation took place in May 2015 and thanks to all concerned I require no further treatment and can return to my normal active life. Of course I am particularly indebted to my surgeon, Mr Ben Eddy and his team for their considerable skill in performing what is an invasive surgical procedure with an outcome that was almost painless and predicted problems that lasted for only a short period of time. Although I was only an in-patient on Clarke Ward for just one day I found the staff kind and gave generously of their time during which was obviously a busy schedule.

I found the support and compassion provided by the “Clinical Nurse Specialists” within the Urology/Oncology Department exceptionally reassuring and provided a high level of confidence building at what was a very anxious and worrying time. The “Patients Forum” and information seminar also provided a thorough and down to earth preparation of what was to come.
