What I liked

The nurses were fantastic on the gynae ward - cheerful and caring. However, the woman in the next bed to me was allowed to have her partner with her the whole day (we were just 2 patients in the ward). Not really fair as I had to listen to them chatting and laughing all day until I had my op. When I returned from surgery he was still there and it was a bit embarrassing having to go to the loo with him there! Not really fair.No comment from nursing staff on this when I asked them.
What could be improved
The anaesthetist was young and inexperienced. It took them 5 attempts to find a vein ( this has never happened to me before) and they got quite panicked - not good before an op! I was a bit worried that they actually knew what they were doing!
Anything else?
A clean hospital. Lovely nurses. However, the 'patient dignity' policy should be reviewed and if one patient is allowed to have their partner with them, we all should.
