"Great care provided to my aunt"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Geriatric Assessment Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My great aunt recently had a fall within her flat, suffering a femoral fracture.

The care she received from both the Scottish Ambulance Service attending ambulance crew and NHS Dumfries and Galloway staff in the Emergency Department, Ward 18 and surgical theatre has been first class.

The occupational therapy staff and physiotherapists are continuing her care package with a positive and encouraging manner.

Thank you to all.

Dear Tazgilleye

I was really sorry to read that your great aunt had a fall resulting in a femoral fracture. However, I was extremely pleased to hear about the standard of care that she has received from all parts of the NHS.

She is going to need a lot of support over the next few months and I am glad to hear that she is already making good progress.

On behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service, can I ask you to pass on our best wishes to your great aunt.

Thank you for sharing this story.

Take care

Martin.

Dear Tazgilleye

It was lovely to come to work this morning and read your kind comments about so many clinical teams within the NHS. Sharing the story about your aunts care and the positive experience you had will be welcomed by so many people.

I have cared for many patients with fractures and how how stressful it can be for both patient and relatives. Everyone works hard to provide quality care and they understand what a difficult time it can be.

I hope your aunt continues to make good progress

Kind regards

Hilary
