Before I begin this review I would like to say that I have been to Hull Royals' A&E department a few times and the nurses are absoultely brilliant! I have no issue with the hygiene as I found it fine. My complaint is with the doctors. Perhaps I am just very unfortunate but in the times I have been I have been made to feel like a hypercondriac and pretty stupid. My recent visit was very traumatic for me to be honest. I had server pain to my right side and was sent from work to the a&e department which was a good 40 minutes away. I had been diagnosed with gastritis a few months prior to this visit and it had only gotten worse and this particular night it was unbearable. I mean I have a heart condition and I would have rather had a heart attack and die than have that pain.
I am not a make a fuss person and I deal with pain through humour so I can understand the doctor being confused that I was realitively cheerful whilst in a lit of pain. All I was offered was blood tests, which all came back clear. Upon those results the doctor basically told me I was overweight (by this post I had lost 2 stone in a month due to gastritis so I was beyond insulted as I was a size 14/16 which I was happy with) and that I was "over exaggerating my symptoms". Well I was insulted and upset and couldn't wat to leave and when he said I was okay to leave I practice ran.
Anyway 2 months on I have now lost 4 stone in 3 months and upon a 5 minute ultra sound I have a gallbladder full of gallstones which is causing my pain so bad I'm having to take tramadol to help me just sleep at night. I will NEVER use hull royal for treatment anymore. I have always had bad experiences where doctors have told me Im making it up.
I was told I had anxiety which turned out to be a heart condition and now this. I have lost all faith in that department and this is why I always ask for a second opinion regarding my health.
I hope this was a helpful review.
