As a HealthCare Professional myself, I was more than a little apprehensive to become a service user, for my recent gynaecology surgery. Preoperatively the medical team and the staff on Ward 20 were clear, concise and empathetic, explaining the procedure and subsequent management.
Post operatively there were some issues with my wound. Again, the medical team and staff on Ward 13 were excellent in their care and compassion, with the doctor even coming in to see me at midnight. It was clear that there was excellent communication between the medical and nursing staff, and they supported me through an extremely difficult, and at times frightening 48 hours.
All the staff I encountered should be commended for their hard work and attitude.
Overall I can say that I was extremely impressed with the care I received on Ward 13.
