I went to Leeds General Infirmary back in May to have a tissue aortic valve replacement.
I experienced exceptional care from all the consultants, doctors nurses and staff on the cardiac ward L16 and from the intensive care team. I stayed in for 9 days. I was given excellent information on my discharge, for my return home.
On my return I was telephoned by the cardiac nurses. I was then visited by Gillian the cardiac nurse who came to my home. She examined me and was satisfied with my recovery progress. She asked if I had any questions and she was able to answer them.
She visited on a second occasion and again examined me and asked questions. She said I was doing very well and there was no need for her to revisits, unless I required any further help. I have now got an appointment to the rehabilitation department at Dewsbury District hospital in July.
"I was given excellent information"
