I had an inguinal hernia repair carried out in th ISIC located in the Patterson building St Marys hospitall on the 4th/5th August 2015. I have come away with the utmost respect and admiration for all of the staff in this facility. My lasting impression is of a team of professionals who are well up to speed on all that they do. The ISIC seems to function like clockwork and it all flows very well with each part of ones treatment planned and carried out with a high level of professionalism. In the lead up to my operation, and during my overnight stay all of the Consultants, Doctors, Staff nurses, nurses and ancillary staff were so approachable and kind. I was encouraged to ask qestions and staff were happy to answer them telling you exactly what would and wouldn't be happening to you. On discharge day i was told i would be going across to the Discharge lounge, I was escorted across to a quiet place set aside where I had a cup of tea and waited for my wife who was ensuring i got home OK. This is such a good idea. Overall my experience was positive and imperial NHS should be proud of the team in the ISIC.
