"Thanks and appreciation for wonderful treatment"

This is to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful treatment I have received over the last nine months at the Royal Surrey County Hospital. I was referred to Mr Paul Halliwell, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a problematic ankle tendon.

Initially I was an outpatient but in April this year Mr Halliwell carried out the surgery to reconstruct the tendon. I am now able to walk well and lead an active life which, at almost eighty two, is something I shall appreciate for evermore.

Prior to the operation I was in the Elective Surgery Unit for a few hours where I was made comfortable by the wonderful nursing staff. Following the surgery I was in Bramshott Ward for four days and received a wonderful standard of care. The ward is spotlessly clean and the sister and nurses are really dedicated and it is thanks to their help that I have made such a good recovery. My thanks must also go to the physiotherapists and outpatient therapists who have helped me considerably.

Following discharge from the hospital I made several visits to the Orthopaedic Outpatients Department. With my leg in plaster I was treated with great consideration and always seen on time. The experts in the plaster room were very professional and helpful and again I was never kept waiting. I am still receiving physiotherapy treatment which is most beneficial and once more I am always seen on time.

I cannot praise highly enough the treatment I received from Mr Halliwell and his very talented team, including the anaesthetist and her assistant whose skills enabled me to come through the operation unscathed.

The hospital must surely be one of the most highly rated in the country thanks to its wonderful personnel. I consider myself very lucky indeed to live within its catchment area.
