I have just visited my mother today in this hospital ,and found her extremely depressed because after 6 very traumatic weeks in hospital ,shes now ready and waiting to go home. however she was informed shed be in a few more days. my mother is 83 ,and is normally ready for anything life throws at her but not knowing when she could go to her home really knocked her for 6. My sister and myself were feeling terrible and trying to console her , when we heard the tea trolley outside the door , and this lovely person with the biggest smile ive ever seen started shouting Mary I have brought you your tea and proceeded to do a mauori dance for her! They laughed and joked all the while they were with her . I turned to look at my mother and her mood had totally lifted! .We were so grateful to this person who probably cant help themself be so kind to patients as it comes naturally from within them. A very special person indeed, and a credit to ward 1 chester le street hospital . Thankyou
"Happy auxillary nurse"
