"Tameside hospital - Good nurses but doctors don't have the time"

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as the patient),

I was admitted to Tameside Hospital after I collapsed and the nurses were brilliant, I would like to thank all the nursing staff on ward 3D. The auxiliary’s also worked very hard but the doctors haven't got time to listen about what you think, their time is limited which upset me.

The food is very poor and I think it was frozen somewhere and defrosted in the hospital, it was microwaved so became very dry.

I was born when hospitals had all their own staff, cooks, cleaners etc and now its all agencies who really are not that bothered about the hospitals reputation.

Patient food at Tameside General is freshly produced on site daily by our team of qualified chefs. Catering staff strive to provide a quality service to our patients and welcome their comments. I am sorry that you found the food provided to you unsatisfactory. We would ask anyone who is unhappy with the quality of food to raise their concerns with the nurse in charge of their ward or department who will ensure appropriate steps are taken.

I am sorry not to have responded sooner. However, Tameside General Hospital has only recently obtained the facility to reply to comments made on this website.
