I am currently on this ward with my son. I feel I have no knowledge of what is happening with the treatment he is receiving. The staff I have encounter so far are no very approachable or unhelpful, a foundation doctor who examined my son on arrival didn't have a clue what they were doing. Some of the staff don't know how to set up machinery either i asked to loan a breast pump which was set up wrong by one nurse and then fixed by an off chance by a healthcare assistant. Pressing the button to get the attention of the staff seems to take a very long time and when they do arrive it's like your question or need is an inconvenience. I have found that some of the staff are quite patronising and treat the patient family like they do not know their own child and what their own child's needs are. I will say the room is very clean and the toilet facilities are very immaculate I would only say the problem with the cleanliness is that the bins in the main rooms could be emptied more frequently and tables given a rub down.
