"at thirteen weeks pregnant i started ..."

About: Birmingham Women's Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked at thirteen weeks pregnant i started to bleed went to my local a and e to be told by the doctor over the phone that if i was misscarrying there was nothing he could do so he refused to see me. i then phoned bwh told them and they had me straight in and unfortunatelly diagnossed spinabifida from the moment i made that call until this day i was treated with such care and compassion i was never rushed into making a descicion of what to do i proceeded until twenty weeks where i felt i had to terminate due to all the additional problems with my baby girl. the birth though very sad was made as easy and as comfortable as humanly possible. both my husband and i were not forgotten about after where every effort was made to make sure we were coping ok and all our questions were answered. two years later we fell pregnant again and thankfully were able to be cared for at bwh. we were well cared for every effort made to check the baby was healthy as early as possible. we then had to be induced four times it eventually ended in a c section. but being needle and pain phobic they treated me with kid gloves i was never made to feel like i was being a pain even though i know i was. i actually look back on my week in hospital as a really fun experience lots of laughing which can be very difficult to achieve. but with everything that was going on i even made some friends for life. and have the most beautifull baby girl. thankyou every body at bwh it really was a pleasure. not a bad comment to say ab out any one in all departments. keep up the fantastic work guys.
